IMS soccer fell last night, after a long winning streak, Iowa City Regina broke it in the second half.

IMS and Regina didn’t see anything going on in the first half, with the game scoreless at the half.

Regina came out of the halftime break with an aggressive attack that forced IMS back, and finally gave Regina the chance to get the first goal of the game. Regina then scored two more to make the final 3-0.

Head coach Marcus Miller talked about the back line of his team and the job they have done this season so far.

“Justin Boller and Cody Miller have been anchors in the backline all year long for us, and tonight was no exception, they’ve all done really well, they take a lot of pride in it,” Miller said. “They’re hurting now, I think one would have been bad enough, but three. Joel Shetler in spite of the three goals had one of his best games, he got to some balls that he struggled with earlier in the year. We’re showing improvement, and Regina is a good team, they are number two for a reason.”

IMS is now 9-3 and plays Highland on Thursday.
