Ground was officially broken yesterday for the Washington County Regional Center of Kirkwood Community College along Lexington Boulevard, northwest of Washington. The $9 million facility is expected to open its doors for classes in the fall of 2014.
At yesterday’s ceremony, Mick Starcevich, college president said that this is a milestone but far from the finish line and that the facility is for the greater good of the community.

Karen Gorham and Lois Bartelme, of the college’s board of trustees, also spoke to the crowd gathered at the site.
