Mid-Prairie softball is in action tonight, as they play their first game of the season.

Coming off a great run at the state tournament, the Golden Hawks bring back eight of the nine starters from last year’s team, that went 31-13 in the regular season.

The Hawks lose their second best bat in Emmie Leinen, but bring back the rest of the team, including top hitter Mallory McArtor who his .453, 46 RBI’s and six home runs. Mid-Prairie also beings back their pitching phenom Olivia Lugar who went 24-10 last year, with a 2.00 ERA, just 38 walks and 155 strikeouts.

Tonight they play Clear Creek Amana who went 43-2 last year. They bring back their top pitcher in Maliah Fligg who went 26-2, with a 1.38 ERA, 30 walks and 83 strikeouts on the year. Offensively they lose three of their top four bats, including their top hitter from last year. Mallory Madsen is the best returning hitter at a .513 average, 54 RBI’s and just five strikeouts.
