One side of the Municipal Building in Brighton will soon feature a mural. According to Chris Davies, city administrator for Brighton, the mural will be a replica of Ding Darling’s duck stamp, in honor of his connection to Lake Darling. Local artist Judy Cabra will do the painting, and will get started in the next few weeks.
Jay Norwood “Ding” Darling was a cartoonist for the Des Moines Register in the early 1900’s and as Director of the U.S. Biological Survey created the Federal Duck Stamp Program, and also designed the first duck stamp.
