The Washington County Conservation Department has taken in a rare specimen, found by a local resident. Now found at the Marr Park Conservation Education Center is an wild-caught albino fox snake. According to naturalist Pam Holz, the white snake with orange spots is the fourth recorded snake of its kind. She states that the original plan was to release it after taking photos and measurements, however most animals lacking normal pigmentation and showing white rarely survive, in part due to their lack of camouflage. It will be used for educational purposes.
