As of 2 pm today the Iowa River at Lone Tree was at 16.8 feet, flood stage for the area is 15 feet. Downstream, the Iowa River at Columbus Junction was measured at 23.3 feet; flood stage there is 19 feet. Also, the Iowa River at Wapello is at 24.9 feet and flood stage there is 20 feet. Dee Goldman, Coralville Lake Operations Manager says that he expects the communities along the Iowa River downstream from the Coralville Lake to be impacted by flooding. The discharge of water from Coralville Lake is going to increase to 20,000 cubic feet per second over the weekend. On Thursday the discharge was at 14,000.
