Today is the last day to enroll land in the Conservation Reserve Program with the Farm Service Agency. Bill Bartenhagen, County Executive Director for the Washington County FSA Office says, “Soil rental rates have increased, producers with expiring contracts have seen significant increases in rates when bidding to re-enroll.”
Those interested should contact the local FSA office and applications must be completed in their entirety to be eligible. After sign-up, all CRP offers will be evaluated and ranked for the environmental benefits to be gained and then decisions will be made.
For more information contact the Washington County FSA office at 653-2138.
