The Jefferson County Board of Supervisors is deciding whether or not to reimburse a farmer for damage to his farm equipment. According to board chair Lee Dimmitt, the person hit a sinkhole in the county with the rear wheel of his combine, breaking the spindle. And is now asking that the county reimburse him for the deductible. Dimmitt says there are worries this will set a precedent, leading to more damage claims in the future. A decision could be made at their meeting next week.
