Two area attorneys have had their licenses suspended by the Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board. Donald N. Lain and D. Scott Railsback of Keota have had their licenses suspended for 18 months. This is the result of the attorneys charging and receiving excessive fees from a client over a period of three decades. Lain had been appointed the conservator for the client, after the client, a Vietnam War veteran, who had a history of mental health complications and substance abuse, inherited property from an estate.
