The Mid-Prairie boy’s soccer team had three players selected for All-State honors.
Austin Errthum was selected for first team all-state for the second year in a row. Errthum led the team in goals with 22 on the year and 21 assists.
Head coach Pat Cady said Errthum is much more than just a good player.
“Austin, he’s the core of our soccer team, he means so much to me, he helps all of the kids in drills, and he’s just a hard working individual and it is just great that he gets noticed again for first team all-state for his second year,” Cady said.
On second team, Wyatt Cady was selected after his year of 19 goals and eight assists, and Chase Murry was also selected for his play in goal, having 14 goals against off 65 saves.
Coach Cady said with these two players added to the list, hopefully the motivation is there to not just make the all-state list, but to make it to state.
“It’s great motivation, like I said Austin has been the core of the team probably for the last three years, and now that you have a couple of individuals that have a taste of that success, now hopefully you’ll have Wyatt pushing with Austin saying, ’come on guys, we have to get to that next level, we’re right there we need to finish out,’” Cady said.
Mid-Prairie finished 8-3-2 on the year.
