The City of Hills is currently in the planning and design stages for a big project they intend to begin next spring. The effort to install a city water system began in 2004, and a ballot measure was passed last fall. According to City Clerk Bonnie Hansen the project is expected to cost $4.5 million.
At this time, individual wells are being used by the around 700 residents in Hills. The city is purchasing a large well, and another is being donated for the proposed water supply network.
Also, Stutsman Incorporated has donated land that will be used for the water tower and water plant.
