One million dollars – that is the goal for the Washington Relay for Life this year. If $117,000 can be raised this year then $1 million will have been raised in Washington for Relay for life since it began 13 years ago. Opening ceremonies begin at 11:45 a.m. this Saturday at Central Park in Washington.

Angela Freese, a member of the Relay committee, says she hopes to see many people attend the event. Ceremonies will be held throughout the event and the public is welcome to attend any of the Relay.

This year a total of 19 teams are participating.
