A seven day notice has been sent to property owners in Mt. Union with wastewater payments more than 60 days overdue that their sewer services will be shut off by RUSS if there is no action to pay on the account. Bruce Hudson, executive director of RUSS, Regional Utility Service Systems, explains that if bills go unpaid then a shut off valve will be installed and in order to restore services then property owners will have pay their bill in addition to the shut off valve cost.

In total the 17 unpaid bills amount to $24,000.

He adds that should the 17 homes be shut off then it will impact the community’s cost “drastically.” There are 62 properties with RUSS services in Mt. Union.
