Washington Utility Rates to Increase July 1st

Utility rates for garbage, water and sewer are set to increase beginning July 1st in the City of Washington. At last night’s city council meeting, it was approved that water be increased by 15-percent on usage rate and sewer will be increased by 5-percent on usage rate. Also, garbage will have a monthly rate increase of $1.50, from the current $4.35 to $5.85. Also, yearly stickers will increase from $75 to $85 and individual bag stickers will go up a quarter to $1.75.
