Columbus Junction’s levee project may not be done by July 31st, the scheduled completion date. According to Jeff Carrey, with Columbus Junction Public Works, the levee was raised when flooding was a possibility last month. He says its around the target height of 32 feet above flood stage, the level it reached during the 2008 floods. He adds there isn’t much progress being made on the finishing touches by the contractor, so it most likely wont be done by the end of next month.
