Yesterday’s Rain Causes River Levels to Rise

As of 5 a.m. today, the English River at Kalona is above flood stage. In the past 24 hours, 1.2 inches of rain fell and the river there has risen 8.9 feet. The English River at Kalona is nearly a foot above flood stage. The Iowa River near Lone Tree rose 1.7 feet in the past 24 hours, but water levels there remain below flood stage. And despite receiving 1.3 inches of rain in the past 24 hours, the Coralville Lake Reservoir fell slightly to 695 feet.

According to Accuweather, Washington received 1.3 inches of rain in the last 24 hours.
