YMCA Executive Director Becky Harkema announced last night at the Washington City Council meeting what the YMCA intends to do in the future with their facilities. Harkema stated that the board would like to pursue building a new facility adjacent to the planned Wellness Park. This decision came about after a feasibility study was conducted, which was funded by a Riverboat Foundation grant. No formal action was taken by the council but some support was voiced. The YMCA plans to seek donor support for the new facilities.
