The Washington County Fair is less than a week away and area 4-H members are helping Clover Kids get ready. In an event, unique to the Washington County Fair, the Clover Kid sheep mentoring program is underway. This class pairs third grade Clover Kids with a 4-H sheep showman. They meet several times before the fair at the 4-H’ers farm, where the 4-H’er mentors the younger member about the sheep species. Then the Clover Kids get to show their mentor’s lamb in the show ring at the Clover Kid Sheep Show on Tuesday, July 16th, immediately following the 4-H Sheep Show. Amy Green, 4-H and Youth Coordinator, says it is the perfect example of partnerships that happen in 4-H. For more information contact the Extension Office at 653-4811.
