An arrest was made this week, stemming from a single vehicle accident late last year. According to the Iowa State Patrol, 44-year-old Donald Dean Gridley was arrested for his role in the December 11th crash in Wapello County that killed his father, 65-year-old Patrick Clair Gridley. DNA testing linked Donald to the drivers side of the pick-up involved in the accident. He was also allegedly intoxicated according to a urine sample.

Donald is charged with Homicide by Vehicle, Involuntary Manslaughter, Failure to Maintain Control, Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and Failure to Have a Valid Driver’s License.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Wapello and Jefferson County Sheriff’s offices, Fairfield Police, Wapello County Attorney’s Office, Division of Criminal Investigation, Hedrick Fire and Rescue and Ormic Ambulance Service of Ottumwa.
