Highland Softball got the win last night to move on in the regional tournament.

The Huskies beat Cardinal 4-1 and move to 31-3 on the season.

Katie Springer gave up four hits and struck out nine, while the offense came through with Jordan Rath going 2-3 with a triple, two RBI’s and a run, and Morgan Craig going 2-2 with a run.

Head coach Carrie Wieland said the top of the lineup struggled a bit in the game, but the bottom of the lineup came through for the Huskies.

Highland plays next on Friday against West Branch who beat Iowa Valley 12-0 and Pekin 8-3 to get to the semifinals.
