Lone Tree and IMS softball plays in the second round of the 1A regional softball playoffs tonight.

Lone Tree had to play into this game and beat Tri-County 12-8 to do so.

These two teams split the regular season meetings with Lone Tree winning the first one 12-5, and IMS winning the second one 5-2.

IMS comes into the game at an even 12-12 from the regular season and hitting .290 as a team, but they also haven’t played a game since last Friday which was against Tri-County, the team Lone Tree beat to get here, and IMS lost 6-5.

IMS is led at the plate by Casey Perez who has a .527 average with 15 RBI’s and two homeruns on the year, Perez is almost .200 better than the second best average of Demi Brezina who has a .360. Laura Hochstetler will be the arm they turn to all post season, with a 12-9 record, 1.91 ERA, 151 strikeouts and opponents are hitting .208.

Lone Tree comes into this game at 10-18 and hitting .244. Their best bat is Madelyn Flemr who is hitting .467 at the plate with 28 RBI’s and seven homeruns on the year. Pitching wise Avery Edwards will get the nod in most of the playoff games with a 3.25 ERA and 79 strikeouts on the year.
