Mid-Prairie Baseball Faces Wapello at Wapello in Round Two

The Mid-Prairie baseball team is back in district action tonight when they play Wapello at Wapello.

The Golden hawks beat Central Lee, Donnellson in the first round 2-0 to make it to round two, and are looking to continue their success against Wapello.

The Golden Hawks are 12-25 this year and hitting .241 and are led at the plate by Spencer Shalla with a .309 average and Seth Eash with a .306 average, combined they have 26 RBI’s. On the mound, with the little bit of extended rest, the Golden Hawks could throw top arm Jonas Coblentz with his 3.09 ERA and 67 strikeouts, or throw Nick Stimson who has a 3.27 ERA with 45 strikeouts.

Wapello is 25-6 on the year and is hitting .319, their best bat is Gage Carpenter with a .468 average, slugging over 1.000 and has 41 RBI’s and 12 homeruns on the year. On the mound it is Blake Odle with a 10-1 record, 1.57 ERA and 88 strikeouts on the year.
