With the potential for a bond issue next year, the Mid-Prairie School Board is evaluating their facility needs. At their last meeting, engineering firm, Shive-Hattery, presented a list of projects compiled by a committee made up of community members.

School Board Vice President George Schafer, says some of the projects on the list include an auditorium for the High School and a new gymnasium for the Middle School. The estimate for a new Middle School gym came in at $3.4 million.

Schafer notes that a shared building with the City of Kalona is still being considered.
