The Mid-Prairie softball team will play an early morning make-up game today, but maybe one of the most important ones of the season.

The Golden Hawks will host Wilton in a game that could determine if they will share a conference title, or if Mid-Prairie will win it outright.

The Golden Hawks are coming off a tough no hit loss to Solon earlier in the week, but are still No. 3 in 3A, with 26-8 record this season and the offense was hitting .327. Felicia Schulty continues to be the best bat on the team as she has been most of the season with a .465 average, 41 RBI’s and 6 home runs. Schulty average is .12 higher than the second best bat, and has just under twice as many RBI’s as anyone else on the team, in fact Schulty is tied for third in 3A in number of RBI’s.

Mid-Prairie’s pitching staff is a two player rotation with Olivia Lugar and Taylor Kurtz getting equal time. They have a combined ERA of 2.07 and have 116 strikeouts combine on the season.

Wilton is an even .500 this year and is hitting .297. Megan Kublik is the top bat with a .420 average and 23 RBI’s with five homers, while Jen Ward is close behind with a .415 average and 22 RBI’s.

Karlie Broders is their top arm, with a 4.13 ERA and 120 strikeouts in 150 2/3 innings.
