A 28-E agreement for a watershed coalition is being sent to towns, counties, and soil conservation groups today for their consideration. Ryan Schlabaugh, Kalona City Administrator, says he and another staff member will be attending meetings beginning Thursday to confirm membership in the English River Watershed Management Authority.
He adds they’re applying for a $150,000 DNR grant that would pay for a watershed study, with the results being used to set priorities for the group. To improve their chances, they’ll try and get as many entities signed on before the August 18th grant application deadline.
