A Hunter Safety Class is being offered next month at the Conservation Education Center in Marr Park. Anyone born after January 1st, 1972 is required by law to complete a hunter safety course before getting a hunting license and anyone 11 years of age or older is able to enroll, although the certificate of completion is not valid until the student turns 12. This is the only class offered by the Washington County Conservation Board for autumn, the next class will be in the spring. The class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13th, and Thursday, August 15th, and will finish on Saturday, August 17th from 8 a.m. to noon. Pre-registration is required and can be completed online at iowadnr.gov or by calling the conservation center at 657-2400.
