Recently, Senator Chuck Grassley voted against the Senate’s proposed immigration reform bill. He says that he believes he could vote for a House immigration reform bill if four items are addressed: the border is secure before legalization of immigrants, criminal law is strengthened, such as preventing gang members from becoming legalized, interior enforcement and a good faith effort to hire Americans first. He belives that the House will vote on a series of bills instead of one all encompassing immigration reform bill. He says there is a good chance that an immigration reform bill can be passed and presented to the president this calendar year.
