Rain received on Thursday night should help alleviate the dry conditions in Southeast Iowa. As of Thursday, abnormally dry conditions were reported in Washington, Keokuk, Louisa, Jefferson and Henry counties. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, over 60% of the state is experiencing the same.

Conditions are much better than they were a year ago, when we were in the midst of a severe drought.
