This summer’s drought is growing worse according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.
The majority of southeast Iowa is in a moderate drought, but an area of severe drought, covering around 22% of the state, has now reached most of Keokuk County, and a small portion of southern Iowa County. Conditions across the state have been declining steadily since early July.
