Central Point of Coordination Administrator Bobbie Wulf addressed the Washington County Board of Supervisors regarding $78,000 no longer owed to the state from the county. She explained that when people are incarcerated and are taken to the Iowa Residential Treatment Center in Mt. Pleasant following court mandates her office receives the bill for those services, however her office has been disputing these bills over the past 15 years. Wulf says that due to recent legislation, the $78,000 was written off. Although, with new people incarcerated, the bills are accumulating again. Wulf explained to the board that she is continuing to dispute these costs with the state office due to the fact that these services are criminal court ordered and the state is responsible for these fees.
