A fatal wreck involving a motorcycle occurred in Iowa County over the weekend. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the 1991 Honda motorcycle was traveling east bound on Interstate 80 near mile marker 207 when the back tire deflated and caused the driver, 56-year-old Michael Gene Muldoon, to lose control. Muldoon, and the passenger, 62-year-old Mary Beth Penne of Ottumwa, were ejected from the motorcycle. Muldoon was transported by ambulance to the hospital while Penne was transported by air care. Penne died as a result of the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
