The amount of fields in southeast Iowa with a healthy amount of moisture continues to dwindle. According to the USDA Crop & Weather Report, 45% of fields in this part of the state are short on moisture, while 33% are very short. And the amount with adequate moisture was cut in half to 20%, between this week and last. This month, the Washington area has only received about half an inch of rain.
