Crop conditions declined slightly over the past week, while the below average rainfall impacted the area’s soil. According to the USDA Crop & Weather Report, after just over a quarter of an inch of rain, 64% of southeast Iowa’s topsoil, and 50% of subsoil is either short or very short on moisture. Corn and soybean conditions have been dropping gradually over the past few weeks, although, the majority remains in fair or better condition.
