The Keota cross country team brings back a young team for the 2013 season.

Head coach Angela Lyle said the goal for this year is to really improve in each meet and throughout the year.

“This group of runners, the girls have six runners, they enjoy going out and running, it is something they going to take in their lives as they get older, it is something they just enjoy doing, and the same thing with Grant Hill and Ryan Chalupa. Those kids are going to put in their time, they love being part of the team so we will sit down as a group and talk about our goals and where we want to start and how much we want to see our times improve, so that is the whole goal is to see those times improve,” Lyle said.

The Eagles start their season with the IMS early bird meet on September 3, and then a week later on September 10 will host their own invitational.

Keota will also appear at the Mid-Prairie invitational on September 24, and the Washington Invitational on October 1.

The South Iowa Cedar League conference meet will be on October 17, with the district meet on October 24.
