The IMS volleyball team will be coached by a familiar face around IMS this year.

Dwight Gingerich will be the head coach, and has taken over for Cindy Miller who coached a winning record at IMS last year of 20-15.

IMS does bring back their top killer and no. 3 on their list in Olivia Yutzy and Casey Perez, but lose Laura Hochstetler to graduation. Yutzy led the team with 327 kills and 38 aces, while Perez had 113 kills and 86 aces.

Perez also will be the returning setter, with 575 assists last year. Kristin Davis will have to make up for the digs they lose with Hochstetler, but she led the team last year with 375.

IMS starts things off this year at Fairfield on August 29 and will play their first conference game against Lone Tree on September 5.

They will have to iron out everything quickly, as the next week on September 12 IMS plays Mediapolis, and on September 17 play WMU. They will be at the Mid-Prairie tournament on September 14 as well.

IMS will play in the conference tournament September 26 and 28, the Washington Tournament October 12, and regional play starts on October 22.
