The Iowa SIDS Foundation Walk for the Future will be held this Saturday in 8 cities across Iowa, including Washington. The local organizers are Tricia and Tony Lipski, who became involved after the sudden death of their son, Jacob. SIDS is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome – the unexpected and unexplained death of an otherwise healthy infant.

Tricia explains that the walk and 5k run helps raise awareness and funds for research.

The run registration begins at 7 a.m. with the run at 7:30 and the walk registration begins at 8:30 with the event at 9:30 a.m. at Sunset Park. Tricia adds that there will be a time of reflection before the walk and information about proper baby sleeping practices will be available.
