Mid-Prairie School District and the City of Kalona will soon learn the financial benefits of having a shared building. At Monday’s City Council meeting, a conceptual architectural contract with Martin Gardner Architecture was approved for $11,800.

City Administrator, Ryan Schlabaugh says, for the architectural plan, the firm will use ideas from the city’s building committee. Once completed, they’ll meet with Mid-Prairie officials and compare the cost with a plan they have for a new gym, to see if it would make fiscal sense to do a joint project.
