Alliant Energy is teaming up with Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Washington County Extension to provide Operation Releaf. Operation Releaf is a program for Alliant Energy customers to help save energy by planting trees that provide shade in the summer and create wind breaks during the winter. The program provides trees for $25 and they must be picked up on September 26th. Order forms should be returned to the extension office and participants should call 811 prior to digging to avoid hitting underground utility lines. Some of the types of trees offered are American Elm, Bur Oak, Sugar Maple, White Oak and Black Hills Spruce.
