The Fall sports season kicks off today for it’s first official day.

Unlike last year, the fall sports season this year comes after a fairly mild summer that allowed many athletes to get prepared over the summer.

Demon head cross country coach Steve Roth said it has really been nice for his team to be able to go out and get some good runs in this summer.

“The weather is very important in cross country, you have to get used to it early, and what you do in the summer pays dividends in the fall, and I’ve seen a few of them out running around, and it is a very unique sport, and very neat sports,” Roth said.

With the start of the fall season join KCII as we start our fall sports previews. We will begin with cross country and volleyball, and then finish up with football as we get closer to the first game being played.

Also join us for our preview shows including the PM sports page this week on Wednesday at 6 P.M. when we talk with the area volleyball coaches, including a few that are new faces, and some that are in new places, and the jet physical therapy coaches corner on Saturday at 9 A.M. when we kick off the football talk with all of the area coaches.

The one to count on for today’s local sports coverage is AM and FM KCII and KCIIradio.com.
