The Washington City Council approved the purchase of two new vehicles for the city’s police department. This year’s budget had allocated $33,000 for a vehicle. However, due to the need for better vehicles the council approved the purchase of two new vehicles, with the cost of the second vehicle covered by a loan until payment is made from next year’s $33,000 budgeted for a vehicle for the department.

Police Chief Greg Goodman, stated that current vehicles in the fleet are experiencing electric and rust issues.

The department will be getting two two-wheel drive pursuit certified 2014 Chevrolet Tahoes.
