Washington County now owes Regional Utility Service Systems a total of $412,764, according to an invoice sent to the supervisors by RUSS Executive Director Bruce Hudson. This money is the cost associated with ending the work with RUSS on the Rubio and Richmond sewer projects, as well as cost incurred for delaying the project in Ollie.

At Tuesday’s meeting, Supervisor Jack Seward stated that the invoice was not expected until this fall, with an anticipated collection date of January 1st, however, according to the invoice received, payment is due and payable 60 days from July 23rd. Seward said the the supervisors will meet with the USDA to verify the invoices.

Supervisor chairman Ron Bennett added that the estimate previously provided was $325,000.
