The WACO volleyball team will have a new coach this year.

Tom Ferguson has taken a year sabbatical, so Jay and Carrie Coble have taken over the head coaching job.

The Warriors bring back Rosemary Skriver, their top killer from last year with 84, and they also bring back now sophomore Hannah Black and now junior Erika Leichty for the offense as well.

Ashlyn Hammen comes back for her senior year as a setter with 242 assists last year, and Katelyn White comes back for her senior year as the top digger with 156 digs with Leichty right behind with 154. Black also brings 14 blocks.

WACO was 3-21 last year, but they bring back almost their entire team, and one year older and more experienced.

They start things off this year with the WACO tournament on August 26, and then will get into the conference opponents.

The Warriors will play the conference tournament September 26 and the 28th, and then will play school rival WMU on October 10. Volleyball regionals start October 22.
