Washington Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgenson stated at the school board meeting this week that new student enrollment is down compared to last year. He also said that there are 138 kindergarten students signed up, compared to 116 last year.

Jorgenson states he is still anticipating a small growth in enrollment and is guessing that enrollment will be slightly higher than last year’s 1,767 students in the district, but that it will not be certified until October 1st.
