The Washington Demon cross country team was at the Ft. Madison meet last night and had some quality performances.

On the girl’s side, they were led by Mariah Howard who finished 24th in a time of 21:05, followed by Stephanie Loy who was 26th in 21:33, Emma Wood who was 29th in 22:40, Stephanie Fishback in 33rd in 23:37 and Maggie Voss rounded out the scorers in 34th in 23:51. The Demons finished in fifth place with 146 points. The winner was Mt. pleasant with 30 points.

On the boy’s side Austin Latcham continues to lead the way with a 21st place finish in 20:05. Curtis Vest was 23rd in 20:14, Owen Horak was 26th in 20:48, Alex Latchem finished 30th in 21:41 and Kyle Schindler was the final scorer in 33th with a time of 22:43. Three of the top five were freshmen for the boy’s side. The Demons finished fifth with 133 points, while Burlington won the meet with 21

Washington runs again next week on Tuesday at Mt. Pleasant
