Drought conditions eased very slightly in the past week across Iowa, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. As of Tuesday morning 97-percent of the state was considered to be in a drought, while last week just over 98-percent of the state was reportedly in drought conditions. Washington County and Southeast Iowa, along with 41.6-percent of the state, remain in a severe drought. One year ago at this time the entire state was classified as in a severe drought with 66-percent in extreme conditions.
