The percentage of Iowa in a severe drought has increased by 10-percent to 42-percent since last week according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. Washington County and southeast Iowa are still considered to be in the severe drought category as of Tuesday morning. Only 1.8-percent of the Hawkeye State is not experiencing drought conditions, compared to 45-percent in Missouri and 34-percent in Illinois.
