Few Crops in Excellent Condition

Only 6-percent of the state’s corn and 5-percent of the state’s soybeans are considered in excellent condition according to United States Department of Agriculture. As of September 1st in the Southeast district 66-percent of topsoil is very short on moisture and 52-percent of subsoil is short on moisture. Statewide there was an average of 6.7 days suitable for fieldwork.
