Highland volleyball got a win last night after a five game losing streak.

The Huskies beat Wapello 3-1 to get back to their winning ways, after a great four game winning streak to start the season and then struggling for five matches in a row before this match.

The Huskies were led by Chelsey Lampe with seven kills and six aces on the night, while Kaitlin Hora had nine assists and Morgan Craig had eight digs to lead the team.

Despite the win, one stat that head coach Chris Rath would like to see improve is the kill efficiency.

“We saw that they could play together and come back, the trouble that we ran into last night is we had a lot of errors, and if we can eliminate the errors I think we would be playing a level above where we were playing last night,” Rath said.

The Huskies were a -.091 in that category, converting just 24 kills in 36 attempts. Rath was happy with the win though.

Highland improves to 6-6 on the year and will host Louisa-Muscatine next tomorrow night.
