An improperly maintained water park in Iowa County has been closed. Following several on-site inspections and an attempt by Johnson County Public Health to bring them up to code, Clarion Inn in Williamsburg has agreed to close their Wasserbahn Waterpark. According to Director of Johnson County Public Health, Doug Beardsley, improper chlorination at the facility posed a health risk.

He says a patron called them this spring to report they didn’t smell chlorine while using the pool.

The swimming pool, wading pool, water slides and spa will remain closed until the owners meet the conditions they agreed to in an agreement with the Iowa Department of Public Health.
