Columbus Junction cross country had some good showings at the Mt. Pleasant invitational, including a career run by one of their boys.

Josh Keller, who usually finishes in the top three on the team, finished fourth overall at this meet and first on the team in a time of 17:04. Head coach Steve Riley said that he ran the race of his life, so far and that this helps with the scoring for the team.

The Wildcats had two more in the top ten in Eli Sents in fifth in a time of 17:11 and Efrain Barajas in 10th in a time of 17:40. The other two scorers were Anthony Garcia in 34th in a time of 19:10 and Tony Ramos was 52nd in a time of 20:10.

Columbus finished fourth with 104 points, while Wapello won the meet with 68.

On the girl’s side, Taylor Hills finished ninth in 17:09 to be the top runner for the Wildcats. Other scorers were Zulema Camarena in 27th with a time of 18:40, Yvette Aguilar in 29th in a time of 18:53, Ashley Canny in 31st in a time of 18:59, and Grace Chapman rounded out the scorers in 41st with a time of 19:52.

The girl’s finished in fourth with 106 points, while Mediapolis won the meet with 44 points.
